Our process
How a landscaping & garden design job runs
- 01
Enquiry and site visit
Tell us what you need by phone, WhatsApp or the contact form. We arrange a convenient visit to look at access, ground conditions and the scale of the job.
- 02
Clear written quote
You receive a straightforward price with no hidden extras, including waste removal and the time we expect the work to take.
- 03
Scheduling
We agree a date that suits you and confirm beforehand, working around weather and your household where needed.
- 04
The work itself
We clear and set out the site, build bases and structures first, then lay surfaces, install boundaries and finish with planting and edging.
- 05
Clean-up and aftercare
We clear all arisings and debris, leave the area swept and tidy, and give practical advice on looking after the results.
Why choose us for landscaping & garden design
A garden build is a bigger commitment than a one-off maintenance visit, so it matters who you hand it to. We are fully insured, we use one team across the whole project rather than passing you between trades, and we build the parts you cannot see — bases, falls, drainage and post fixings — to the same standard as the parts you can. The finish is what we want you to judge us on.
Landscaping & Garden Design in Fife, Dundee, Angus and Perthshire
Scottish gardens need to cope with heavy rainfall, exposure and short winter daylight, so we pay particular attention to drainage falls, non-slip surfaces and sheltered seating areas. Sloping plots are common in Dundee and around Perthshire, where retaining and stepped levels usually make more of the garden usable, while exposed coastal gardens in Fife and Angus need robust fencing and wind-tolerant planting to establish well.
Why homeowners call LM Landscaping
Most of the gardens LM Landscaping works on start with a problem rather than a drawing: ground that will not drain, a fence that has given way, a slope nobody can use, or a garden that simply got away from its owner. We look at the space, tell you honestly what will work, and give a written price covering the whole job including waste removal.

Common questions
Landscaping & Garden Design FAQs
Do you provide a design as well as the build?
Yes. We will talk through how you want to use the garden, suggest a layout and materials, and then build it, so you are not managing separate designers and contractors.
How long does a garden transformation take?
It depends entirely on scale. A patio and planting scheme may take under a week, while a full garden rebuild with levels and fencing can take several weeks. We give a realistic timescale with the quote.
Can you work on sloping gardens?
Yes. Retaining, terracing and steps are a common part of what we do across Dundee, Perthshire and hillier parts of Fife and Angus.
Do you handle clearance before the build?
Yes, site clearance and waste removal are included as part of the project.
What materials do you use for patios?
Porcelain, natural stone, concrete slabs and monoblock are all options. We will recommend what suits your budget, aspect and how much upkeep you want.
