Working across Dundee
Gardens and trees we look after here
As a local tree and landscaping team, we cover Dundee and the communities immediately around it, including Broughty Ferry, Monifieth, Invergowrie and the West End. The city has a real mix of garden types: compact terraced plots off the Perth Road, larger Victorian and Edwardian gardens in the West End and Broughty Ferry with mature specimen trees, and newer estates on the northern edge of the city where hedges and lawns are the main work.
The local landscape
Dundee's older suburbs hold some genuinely large mature trees — beech, lime, sycamore and pine planted when the villas were built — and these often need reduction or deadwooding rather than removal. Gardens sloping towards the Tay catch the wind coming up the estuary, and the sandier ground in parts of Broughty Ferry and Monifieth drains quickly, which affects both lawn establishment and which turf we recommend.
Local considerations in Dundee
Several parts of the West End, Broughty Ferry and Newport-adjacent streets fall within conservation areas, and protected trees are common on the older villa plots. We confirm protected status with Dundee City Council before starting. Space is the other constraint — many city gardens have no side access, so large trees are dismantled in sections and taken out through the house side or over walls with proper protection in place.
